How A Metal Band That Doesn't Exist Made It To No 1

Killing all five members of the opposing team within a few seconds of one another in League of Legends is such an impressive feat that it has its own name: "pentakill." Like many awesome League plays, it's also old hat by pro players' standards. In 2011, Jorn released his second live album with footage from the concert of the 2010 Sweden Rock Festival, the album was called Live in Black 12 Also in 2011, he was a guest on female singer Amanda Somerville 's first metal project Trillium singing on the vocal duet track 'Scream It'.

Pentakill Karthus was introduced to us in the role of a singer in the heavy metal band - Pentakill. He was, along with Olaf being inspired by Lemmy Killmister, Mordekaiser by GWAR (sort of), Karthus by Jørn Lande and Sona by Simone Simons. In short: one of CLG's players killed all five of TSM's players ("League of Legends" is a five-on-five game).

And to crank it up a notch, Mordekaiser, Sona, Karthus, Olaf, and Yorick are taking the stage with new splash art, in-game models, and an all new summoner icon. A green smoke suddenly formed and popped Karthus, the lead singer of the rock band. You can read more about the band and that album here , covering them was actually one of the very first articles that I ever wrote for Metal Insider.

The end of Vagabond came with the reformation of TNT in 1996, and subsequently the band members went their separate ways, with Jørn joining a band formed in by Whitesnake former guitarists Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody called The Snakes After a tour with The Snakes playing mostly Whitesnake covers and the recording of an album released only in Japan ranked called Once Bitten , Jørn was fired from the band and joined other projects, including the Symphonic Metal band Mundanus Imperium, which resulted on the album The Spectral Spheres Coronation.

After the disastrous end to their last live performance, where Mordekaiser destroyed the entirety of the Freljordian crowd, Karthus gave the fateful order for Olaf to drum the Worldsplitter Rhythm” that sundered the land and brought down the icy realm's highest peak upon Mordekaiser.

But your home base in far from the action, and every second you spend hoofing it back towards the game is time that the other team is taking advantage of. And that's why it's so devastating when one team gets a pentakill: It means the team that pulled it off has unfettered run of the match for however long it will take for them to slowly meander back into the fray.

You can buy Pentakill Kayle skin for 1350 RP in the League of Legends in-game store. Video of Pentakill's live musical carnage” in Bandle City, performing Mortal Reminder from the new album Grasp of the Undying, recorded in the catacombs of the Shadow Isles. Then Sona is the scorpion-cum-keyboardist, Mordekaiser plays a guitar carved out of a battle-beaten great axe and steampunk ogre Olaf plays drums with sticks made of glowing human skulls.

The likes of Motley Crue's Tommy Lee, Danny Lohner of Nine Inch Nails and a plethora other metal big-hitters record actual music related to the game, some of which has already hit the Billboard Top 40 and garnered millions of YouTube streams. And so Yorick slept beneath the desert until Karthus and Kayle prised open his tomb.

And Pentakill Kayle barely in the video AS SHE DESERVES. In-game, a pentakill is a distinguished achievement of single-handedly killing all enemy champions in short succession. Later on, Jørn got together with guitarist Tore Østby (ex- Conception ) and drummer John Macaluso to form the progressive metal band Ark and record their first self titled album in 1999.

Yesterday the band released their very first music video for the track Mortal Reminder ,” showing the band in action for the first time outside of the video game itself, making it the third single off of their upcoming album Pentakill II: Grasp of the Undying.

We've also got the names of all the songs from the credits - aside from those two singles, we'll have "Frozen Heart," "Infinity Edge," "Rapid Firecannon," "Cull," "Mortal Reminder," "Dead Man's Plate," "The Blade of the Ruined King," and "The Hex Core mk-2." I never realised until now quite how metal the items in League of Legends sound.
